Assumption High School Players Honored for Lacrosse, Coaches Named Coaches of the Year

May 22, 2008 – Louisville, KY – Four Assumption High School students have been recognized by the Kentucky Lacrosse Association (KLA). Juniors Annie Boone, Sam Saunders, and Meg Todd, and senior Becca Walter received honors for high school lacrosse. Assumption’s lacrosse team is coached by Bobby Blair and Matthew Cope, who were voted Kentucky Lacrosse 2008 Coaches of the Year by their colleagues across the state.
Varsity defense player Boone was selected to the 2008 State All-Tournament Team. Defensive wing Saunders was named to the Kentucky Girls Lacrosse Association 2008 First Team All-State. Todd received a Kentucky Girls Lacrosse Association 2008 All-State Honorable Mention. Center Walter was also selected to the 2008 State All-Tournament Team.
In addition to their lacrosse coaching roles, Blair acts as Assistant Athletic Director at Assumption, and Cope teaches social studies and serves as moderator to the Global Issues Club.
